Seeking Career Panelists for High School STEM Day

Help high school students learn more about STEM and STEM adjacent careers by being a career panelist!


On Wednesday March 11, 2026, ~100 students from Oakland, Richmond and Pinole will be visiting the LBL hill site as part of our monthly High School STEM Day program. We are looking for staff from different Areas and professions to meet students and talk a bit about their career trajectory, as part of a career panel. Details below:

HS STEM Day career panel:

There will be THREE, 45 minute panels for March 11th

There are 2-3 Panelists per session

Each panelist will prepare a ~5-7 minute introduction going over:

1. Your background - Where are you from? What did you do when you were in high school etc

2. Path to the Lab - College? First jobs? What experiences help lead you to where you are now?

3. Big picture of your current work - what is your current job at the Lab?


A Q&A will follow the intros where students will be encouraged to ask questions to each panelists.

High School STEM Days are a once-a-month event for local public high school students to visit the Lab.This event will be a chance for students and school representatives to have an opportunity to tour Berkeley Lab, network with Lab employees, and participate in job shadowing. The main goal of this event is to share what life in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and STEM-adjacent professions are like and learn more about summer programs and high school internships for students at Berkeley Lab.
