Community members of all ages are invited to join thousands of California volunteers who will help clean up local beaches, bays, and waterways during the 40th annual Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 21 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Meet at the Shorebird Park Nature Center (160 University Avenue, Berkeley) OR Brickyard Cove (598 University Avenue, Berkeley) to receive a safety talk and supplies. Cleanup will take place along various areas of the Berkeley Waterfront as well as Brickyard Cove and Aquatic Park.
Volunteers will help compile data about trash and marine debris for one of the largest research projects in the world.
Buckets, bags, and gloves will be available for volunteers. If you are able, please help by bringing your own supplies:
- Bring a bucket or reusable bag
- Bring a lightweight pair of gardening gloves
- Bring a filled, reusable water bottle
