Description

Founded in 2021, Stem Frenzy is a San Francisco-based organization with a mission to inspire the next generation of diverse STEM professionals by providing access to STEM education in underserved communities.

On Saturday, April 1st, 2023, STEM Frenzy will hold its annual STEM Frenzy Festival at the Chase Center, located at 1 Warriors Way San Francisco, CA 94158.

Approximately 2,000 people are slated to attend, many of them families with children who are in grade or middle school.

We will have 2 hands-on activities:

  • Microscopy station: we will have a few microscopes on hand, allowing visitors to look at a variety of common objects (such as insects, sand, fabric, salts, and paper) up close and discover all the cool details we can’t see with our own eyes.  This activity encourages curiosity and observation.

  • Makey Makey: Makey Makeys are circuit boards that can be plugged into a computer.  They work by completing a circuit - and each metal pad on the Makey Makey is a conductive touch pad. We will connect the Makey Makey to a piano app, using ourselves to complete the circuit.  You can learn more about the activity here.
