Berkeley Lab’s Lambda Alliance has led the effort to represent the Lab at the San Francisco Pride Celebration since 2017. This year, the Lambda Alliance is partnering with the Labs’s Government and Community Relations Office to once again have a presence at the 2022 SF Pride.
The SF Pride Celebration attracts thousands of attendees, and it is a valuable way for Berkeley Lab to share with the local community more about who we are and what we do. That's where you come in. As a volunteer in the Lab’s booth, you will:
- Serve as an ambassador for Berkeley Lab and its scientific research,
- Help explain some hands-on demos and displays,
- Discuss ways that people can engage with and support the Lab (career and internship opportunities),
- Collect contact information for “Elements”, Berkeley Lab's community newsletter, and
- Field any questions we get from visitors to our booth.
Training:
Two 30-minute training sessions will be offered the week before to review booth activities. If you are interested in attending, please add it to your calendar. We will also share a folder with volunteer resources a few days before the event.
