Berkeley Lab is participating in the 2023 SF Pride Parade on Sunday, June 25th and we hope to have 100 marchers help us represent the Department of Energy’s collective commitment to diversity. You will be marching alongside the Lab’s pride parade vehicle and representing Berkeley Lab. All are welcome to march with us, so please feel free to bring your friends and family to march as a community that supports our commitment to science and diversity.
Our march time has yet to be determined, but plan to arrive as early as 10:45am. To participate in the parade all marchers need to be at the Lab's designated space no later than 12pm.
If you plan to bring family and friends to march at the parade, please let us know by adding a note when you select one of the shifts. Once you respond to the opportunity you will see a box that says “additional volunteer information.” Please add all names of family/friends that will be joining us at the event so that we have an accurate headcount.
Things to keep in mind:
- Bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated
- Wear comfy shoes
- Bring sunblock and/or wear a hat to protect you from the sun
- There will be limited bathrooms along the marching route, please plan accordingly

Participants should plan on arriving as early as 10:45 am, and no later than 12:00pm, so that we can hand out lab coats for those who would like to wear one. Come early, grab a coat, get glittered up, and have a blast with your coworkers and their friends and families!
