Description

The REAP Climate Center is an urban community farm located on the island of Alameda, CA. The center is focused on enhancing awareness and advancing soil research and technology. Our team will work on planting, tending to the livestock, and beautification projects. This event is open to family and friends.

Ecological:
1) Tree pre-planting: Identify and tag donated species (via an app), confirm the appropriate location across the half-mile-long property, and place the pot for planting the following weekend (maybe plant a couple the day of).
2) Habitat Restoration: Help shape the Bioswale Trail to prep for future planting, including pruning.
3) Weekly tidying & tending to the sheep and chicken areas. (spoiler alert > the climate center has two adorable new little lambs).

Building & Tool-Use:
1) Signage: A new sign will (hopefully) be ready to hang. Activities could range from post-setting to hanging the final signs. They are big and it will involve a tractor. This is a momentous occasion for the center and, in some ways, a big reveal to a broader community.
2) Prep for Bay Beehives: The center is overjoyed to be onboarding the Bay Beehives organization to manage the bee program. Their little cottage is almost finished. An Eagle Scout Troop generously built the structure and needs some final beautifying touches.

Please note, you will need to fill out this digital waiver before the event: Adult & Youth
