The East Oakland Collective (EOC) has taken the Clean Air Day Pledge, and will partner with the East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD), Oakland Dept of Transportation (OakDOT), Higher Ground, and a local community health clinic to do a bike ride to the MLK Jr. Shoreline/San Leandro Creek to cleanup and learn about ongoing efforts to address East Oakland's air pollution issues surrounding the shoreline. The MLK Jr. Shoreline is a 748-acre park protecting the remainder of a once-extensive marshland at San Leandro Bay currently polluted by plastic waste and surrounded by industrial zoning.
